Frank and Mary loved Shipley Glen Frank on a walking trip to Tarn Hows Hitler and Friends. Photo taken by a friend of Frank's during the War, while on leave in Germany. Frank wrote on back: "The Blood Order, silver, for taking part in the 1923 Putsch, worn on R.H. pocket button" - R.H. presumably Rudolf Hess? When Frank was researching family history, he came across some relatives doing the same. One of them was Winne Wildgoose, the daughter of Amy, who married William Birch Shaw, Frank's father's brother (hence Frank's cousin), and she had in her possession a portrait of the ancestor Elizabeth Lee, ancestor of Rosetta Biggin, who maried their father's father. This lady was born in 1799, and as she was not aristocratic (judging by the clothes) we assume she was a person of some interest or importance in the neighbourhood, and the name Lee encourages us to think we have psychic forebears.
