New Year's Eve 2007-8

About a week before New Year's Eve, I was in Barrowford with the dog when I noticed a new Indian Restaurant had opened. Thinking this might be a good place to go NYE, I called in for a menu. My daughter and her boyfriend were coming over to spend the evening with me and stay the night. Normally, I see the new year in at the allotment, in my circle, which Wolf built for me, and where we have celebrated all the festivals ever since. In an attempt to cut down on the amount of gardening, I have let Hannah, Pendle's Only Binwoman, have the land with the circle on it, and she has got halfway through digging it up. So there was going to be no focal point down there this year. Sitting in the African hut in the dismal damp did not appeal! Then I realised that if we were in Barrowford we were not far from Wolf's memorial tree, and what better place to see the New Year in!

We opened some champagne and sprinkled it around the tree. We lit four candles and a bunch of incense, and I stuck roses in the soil around the tree. We joined hands and said our hopes for the New Year and blessings for those who travelled the road ahead of us, and who we were following.  I switched the flash off and took some photos.

In this sequence of three pictures, the lights of the four candles first appear as hearts, then morph into skulls

Crystal skull fans will love this!

NEWSFLASH!

A new skull is coming! I wonder if the apparition of these three skulls in the candleflames were a harbinger of this new one to come. It is one that has been long looked-for and has at last turned up. It will have a companion, at least one, this is already decided and will come with it. So as there were three skulls at New Year, maybe another will join them, but it will have to be very special, as I am not into adding to my collection at this time. In fact I haven't bought a skull since the three I bought from Beth Wolff just before Wolfram's death, and which were actually on their way here at the time he died - I believe that these skulls were programmed to come to me to help me through the crisis that was coming. They were made of 1) moldavite (carved by Raven) 2) apache tears 3) amethyst. So the arrival of a new skull is something to be eagerly anticipated. I will photograph and enter it when it arrives!
