| Sally among the witches . . .
        . .
Set in the Northern town of Grimsdyke,
this tells how Sally, an ordinary English woman, finds herself stumbling
over witches in an area where there have been supernatural goings-on for
centuries. Meeting two extraordinary individuals in an Earth mysteries
group who, unknown to her, are running a coven, she agrees to a naked
initiation ritual at the hands of one of them, an unemployed Father of
Nine. To his astonishment, she undergoes a transformation and takes the
whole thing seriously, embarking on a magical career which she expects
him to share. Their adventures are told in a fast-paced, hilarious style
which will have you helpless on the floor in no time!
               The author, a
white witch living in the shadow of Pendle Hill, legendary home of
witches, has written this in the form of 57 carefully crafted short
stories, each of which can be read independently, but which, taken as a
whole, form a continuous narrative, with intriguing side-roads and
byways into past life experiences. Ms Murfin-Shaw is arguably one of the best writers in English today, and the funniest,
most irreverent. Don't read this unless you share her searing honesty
and dedicated search for the truth. She is unshockable. See that you are
        too.
        An uproarious romp, a
tantalising mixture of witchcraft, sex and humour in the cold Northern
        hills -

just the thing for a wet weekend in
        Wigan . . .
