We begin by looking at the chart and getting some idea of the sort of person this is. With practice, and as you learn more, you will pick up a 'feel' for the person. You will also experience some of the auric energy of the person coming through, and it can be difficult, when you have taken on a task, if it is a person you do not like. Even though you have never met the person, you can still experience strong likes and dislikes. Some people will thrill you, too, and then it is very exciting exploring their horoscope.

This person has Moon rising, sign of the Poet. She has Mars in Pisces, so her physical energy and stamina is not strong, she is not naturally forceful. With her Sun in 5th she loves the limelight, performing and acting. Her Venus-Mercury conjunction is the sign of the Writer, and with these two in Cancer 6th, she is a very caring person, and will tend to 'mother' people. She will make a good cook - and writer - so should write cookery books.

     Pluto placed almost on her Descendant shows she will end relationships abruptly, or they will be ended abruptly for her, and that there will be 'no going back'. This is also true of her working relationships, as Pluto is in 6th. She has huge 1st-7th houses, so relationships, and what she learns from them, will occupy a great deal of her life. She is 'hungry for knowledge' - her tiny 3rd house is crammed with three planets and their juxtaposition is interesting. Saturn the Doubter is on one side of Uranus the unstoppable, the innovator, the rebel, and Jupiter the Encourager is on the other. This person will be one of Life's Originals, but she is never sure what to do about it - Saturn pleads safety and caution, Jupiter wants to go all out for it. So there is a great deal of indecision.

     Her Midheaven in Sagittarius means her ambition knows no bounds.

The chart was first drawn without angles, so as to see the basic structure better. Here it is drawn with angles. Angles are important for the aspects made to them, and you can see this is a more 'filled in' chart

After getting the overall picture, there are various analytical ways of looking at the chart. We can make assessments by element, quality, character type, aspect type, and come to an overall conclusion. These are useful techniques, but we should not get too bogged down in detail. Do it, then forget it and go back to what you feel about the chart. I use a points system for this. Points are out of fifty. Double the results to get percentages.

1. Points rating. Sun, Moon = 10; Mercury, Venus, Mars = 4; Jupiter, Saturn = 3;

Uranus = 2; Neptune, Pluto = 1; Asc = 8

The native is 62% Air so lives mainly in the head and is probably detached from her feeling sensation and has low practical skills. She has little sense of adventure, with the Fire element almost non-existent. She should pursue an academic career. The feeling side could be worked with, as there are three personal and very important planets in Water.

The native is 48% Fixed so likes a settled base, a working set of values and a stable relationship. There is a high degree of mutability so she copes well with change and does not adhere rigidly to principles and beliefs. Cardinal is low, therefore the native is not a trailblazer nor an originator.

This is a 'triple aspect' horoscope, the Native having a reasonable showing in each aspect type. This type of person has the capability and adaptability to overcome problems and recover equilibrium after a crisis. There is a wide range of interests and abilities and she is never bored.

Explanation of Aspect Types

Type A are the 'hard' aspects - conjunction, square, opposition. These aspects motivate and force action in the native. Type B are the 'soft' aspects - sextile and trine. These indicate natural talent and an ability to forge links and create harmony. Type C are the 'minor' aspects. They are the consciousness raisers - they give an added pizzaz to the native, and indicate individuality.

Overall Assessment - strongly Air/Fixed/Cerebral/Balanced

secondary

Water/Mutable/Visceral

Air-Fixed-Cerebral are all Aquarian concepts - so though the Native has a Gemini Sun she responds more to her Aquarius Moon - so is Moon-ruled, meaning she trusts her instinct, intuition and gut feelings more than her logic. She is a good judge of people and remains on the fringe of any group. When she gives her heart she is very loyal and does not like to change partners. The secondary personality is very emotional and may be denied as being too difficult to deal with
